New Home Electrics

Building a new home can be an exciting (but often stressful!) experience. There are so many things to think of, so many choices to make and soooooo much money to hand over. Quite often people are so caught up in the design and building process that the electrical design and electrical services are over looked or a second thought.

You have visualised your home theatre system being set up in the theatre room, pictured the a fabulous new lamp in the living area and the ceiling fans in the alfresco but have you considered where the socket outlets and switches for these things will be? A well thought out electrical plan will save you hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars. The best time to get the wiring done in your new home is during the construction NOT after it. Imagine a  newly plastered and painted wall having to be “chased” to install a new powerpoint. Not only will you have the cost of the electrician but also the plasterer and the painter. Even worse is deciding not to go through the cost of “chasing” the wall and running an ugly piece on conduit down it.

Ask a qualified electrician to take a look at your electrical plans and go through each room discussing your requirements. Each room will have differing electrical requirements but it is without doubt that every room will require some electrical service.
